25 Years of Peace River Pulp – Reflection

Over the past 25 years, the DMI Peace River Pulp Mill, located 16 kilometers north of Peace River, has had a significant impact in the community and surrounding area. The mill has had a colorful history in the community and with that, it has had to over come
numerous obstacles. Reporter Logan C low examines some of the challenges DMI faced in its early years.

“Time passes so quickly. What we’ve seen is we have second and third generation people coming into work in our mill and employees that have moved from different parts of Canada and now they have settled and they have had children and for us to look back, we have had a lot of successes, there’s been a lot of changes that we were able to adapt to,” Amber Armstrong, communications and public relations superintendent at DMI, told the Record-Gazette by phone.
